Craig Castiglia focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on product liability and mass torts. Mr. Castiglia represents clients from a range of sectors, including the consumer products and pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. Castiglia has experience in all stages of litigation, including managing discovery, taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses, drafting dispositive motions and motions in limine, preparing expert witnesses for trial, and arguing pretrial motions. In his pro bono practice, Mr. Castiglia represents individuals alleging violations of their civil rights.
Mr. Castiglia joined Dechert as a summer associate in 2016 and clerked for the Honorable Berle M. Schiller of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
- A manufacturing company in product liability litigation involving allegations that a product sold to the military is related to hearing loss suffered by servicemen and women. Secured complete defense verdict in MDL bellwether trial.
- A major technology company in a putative, nationwide class action that involved consumer electronics and allegations related to radiofrequency exposure. Obtained summary judgment on all claims based on federal preemption.
- A multinational company in mass personal injury litigation which alleged that a product was contaminated with asbestos.
- A major pharmaceutical company in California consolidated litigation involving the claim that an H2 receptor antagonist caused patients to develop cancer.
